About MeMy name is Amanda Hessel. I am a school psychologist in North Carolina. I have been a member of school-based MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) teams at the Elementary, Middle, and High school levels. I have been trained in academic and cognitive assessment, behavioral and academic interventions, child psychopathology, data-based decision making, and counseling. I have been involved with the NCSPA Board, serving as the conference committee chair from 2012-14. As of the 2021-22 school year, I have eleven years of experience as a school psychologist in North Carolina public schools.

Professional Interests |
My professional interests include working with preschool and elementary age students, students with autism and low incidence disabilities, attention disorders, traumatic brain injury, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention, data analysis, and social-emotional learning.

My Education |
In May 2011, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Masters in School Psychology, with a Certificate of Advanced Study. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 2008.
